D-Glace100

D-Glace100 describes a liquid de-icer comprising liquid magnesium chloride 30% concentrate, a natural sugar and a corrosion inhibitor. D-Glace100 is an environmentally safe, low corrosive deicier that benefits from a low freezing point of -65°C. Diluted to 50%, liquid D Glace100 will resist to freezing up to -17°C.

D-Glace100 is the ideal liquid de-icer for anti-icing (prevents adhesion of frozen contaminants on a surface).

What is de-icing ?

De-icing consists of a preventive technical measure to maintain winter road viability. Spraying a liquid de-icer to roads before precipitation actually starts, will prevent the adhesion of ice and snow.

Why is it used ?

The even coating of brine previously applied will prevent moisture from crystallizing on the road. This approach prevents black ice formation until product is diluted. With freezing rain or snow or other precipitation, the liquid de-icer will immediately form a brine coating between the road and the accumulation thus preventing the formation of hardened snow until the product is completely dissolved. Contrary to conventional road salt, the liquid de-icer acts instantly on the road surface.

Benefits

The application of liquid de-icer allows for safer roads at the onset of precipitation. Moreover, since this product is much less toxic than sodium chloride, this technique reduces negative environmental impacts compared to sodium chloride. With that in mind, liquid de-icer is less corrosive than sodium chloride and causes less damage to road infrastructures and road users.
