Bleu-Fuzion

Bleu-Fuzion was created to optimize the effectiveness of de-icing salt by allowing a fast start to the ice-melting process. Beyond the significant increase in the quantity of salt penetrating the ice and hardened snow, it can maintain the effectiveness of salt even at low temperatures. This allows cost savings at every application.
There is no doubt that the choice of using a liquid magnesium chloride brine to treat salt increases its melting capacity even at temperatures where salt causes no reaction.
Bleu-Fuzion was conceived with a mixture of liquid magnesium chloride (concentrated to 30%), a natural additive (carbohydrate) containing a corrosion inhibitor and a dye (blue). Bleu-Fuzion coats each grain of salt during the treatment and when applied, allows it to adhere to the frozen road. Losses of salt caused through rebound during application and constant road traffic are largely reduced. All the salt applied to the road takes effect where it should, and not on the shoulders or ditches.
Viscosity
The viscosity of Blue-Fuzion is high enough to coat each grain of salt and then to cling while allowing an easy flow during the treatment. You then obtain a salt treated uniformly from the bottom to the top of the pile, without any running product.
The eutectic point
The eutectic point can be defined by the lowest temperature at which a liquid (with a given concentration) resists freezing. For magnesium chloride brine with a 30% concentration, the lowest temperature prior to freezing is -17° C. By adding Bleu-Fuzion to this same brine, it may resist freezing up to a temperature of -65° C.
Corrosion
Concerning the corrosion index, comparative testing between various brines has demonstrated that Bleu Fuzion is the least corrosive. This is explained by the addition of a corrosion inhibitor which has proven reliable. This corrosion inhibitor thus makes it possible to reduce the damage caused by salt to equipment, vehicles and metal structures, considerably.

Its color
The typical blue color of Bleu-Fuzion makes it possible to better visualize the quantity of salt applied to frozen roads. Moreover, the dark color makes it possible to absorb the rays of the sun more efficiently and provide heat (BTU) that is necessary for the salt to start the melting process.
Penetration effect
One of the characteristics of de-icing salt is its capacity to penetrate the ice and break the bond that exists between the ice and the road. It has been demonstrated that salt treated with Bleu-Fuzion accentuates this effect even at low temperatures.
Possible savings
The addition of Bleu-Fuzion to your salt reduces loss when being spread. According to tests carried out by the Ministry for Transport of Michigan (Michigan DOT) in the United States, approximately 30% of the salt spread is lost through rebound during application and/or constant road traffic. If you reduce your rate of application while obtaining the same performance, you will obtain great savings while maintaining your level of service.
