Calcium chloride (83-87% flakes) is mainly used as a dust suppressant and de-icer. It is also used for ballasting tractor tires and heavy machinery. Moreover, calcium chloride (flakes 83-87%) is used for drilling permafrost in the arctic regions.
When applied to unpaved roads, parking lots, golf cart paths and bike trails, calcium chloride (83- 87%) prevents the formation of dust by absorbing moisture from the air, binding small dust particles to larger aggregate.
